  5. NOTICE:  The entire program manual is no longer available in this file as of
  6. *******  versions 1.35/1.39.  This is because a .HLP file has been created, and
  7.          everyone has the Help Viewer Program!!!  Don't forget to read the
  8.          manual--there is a lot of useful information there.

  12. INSTALLING THE RESOURCE MONITOR
  13.

  15. Since you are reading this file, you have already unzipped the file you
  16. downloaded.  There is no installation program supplied (SORRY), but this is easy
  17. to do:

  19. Resource Monitor can be installed to any directory (folder), as long it is in
  20. it's own directory. Make sure the PERSON.DAT file is in the same directory as
  21. RESMON.EXE (or RESMON95.EXE).  Also, make sure VBRUN300.DLL is in your Windows
  22. system directory.  If it is already there, great.  If not, and if it was not
  23. provided, most BBSs and online services have it.

  25. Now, you can follow the appropriate instructions for your operating system:

  28. Windows 3.1 or 3.11
  29.  
  30. When all the files are together, create a Program Manager icon for the
  31. RESMON.EXE. If you don't use Program Manager, follow the documentation for the
  32. shell you use.   For Program Manager, use the New command under the File menu.
  33. In Filename, type a directory path to RESMON.EXE (wherever you installed it to).

  38. When you get all the files figured out, create a Start Menu entry for
  39. RESMON95.EXE.  To do this, follow these steps  (unless you know how to do this
  40. and like to do it a different way):

  42. 1.    If you want to put Resource Montior above Programs in the Start Menu,
  43.     then you can use the Windows Explorer and drag the NOW!!.EXE file to the
  44.     Start button.  Otherwise, go to step 2.
  45.  
  46. 2.    Position your mouse over the Start button and right-click.  Select
  47.     Explore from the menu.
  48.  
  49. 3.    Open the folder you wish to put RESMON95.EXE in.
  50.  
  51. 4.    On the File menu, select New and then Shortcut.  Enter a folder path to
  52.     where you installed Resource Monitor
  53.

  55. That is all there is to it!!
